Complete gut and renovation of entire apartment
    $200,000

It was a daunting task to take on a complete gut and redo of a coop in Brooklyn. Worked in a couple other markets but never in NYC and was very nervous but what a great experience! I have completed over a dozen projects but this was the best working experience and I did not make it easy! I like a lot of usual and antique fixture which made things complicated, but Jimmy took it all in stride and did a great job! I would use him again and I truly enjoyed working with him - he's and his partner are wonderful people!

    two bathroom remodels
    $30,000

Jimmy and crew did an amazing job on two bathrooms in my prewar apartment. Right down to the studs and even a clawfoot tub! They were clean and tidy and completed the job in three weeks!

After having contracted our NYC co op bathroom to a previous inadequate contactor we were left with a mess. I was reluctant to use buildzoom but I had to take the chance as we live in CT. I was very skeptical. All contractors we had estimate the job were extremely over priced. Jimmy from Egnatia Construction gave us the only fair price. He was professional. He answered every call or text in more than adequate time. Since it is a coop there was alot of paperwork along with substantial insurance requirements. He completed and dealt with all of it. He also had all requirements needed to work in a co-op. When he came to do the work he continued until it was finished. He left the job each day with the area cleaned up that he was working in. I highly recommend Jimmy from Egnatia no question about it.

Deck and fencing, bathroom, and ventilation in basement wall for electric dryer
    $18,000

I hired Jimmy and his team to put in a new backyard deck with French doors in April 2017 as well as bathroom repairs and a ventilation spot in the basement wall for an electric dryer. This was a complicated job because it involved knocking down a wall and redoing the deck twice. Once for NYC engineering approval and once to meet my specifications.

Jimmy and his team were great professionals to deal with. His estimates were detailed and on point. When additional costs arose we talked about it and came to a completely reasonable arrangement. The deck, bathroom and ventilation in basement wall still looks great three months later.

There were a few things that needed to be touched on after the job was done but he came and completed them in reasonable time and with no complaint.

If there is one area of improvement, it would be ensuring that we are both on the same page when it came to materials/colors used on the deck. We did, though, come to a very just and reasonable agreement which was handled professionally.

I would definitely use Egnatia Construction again and would definitely recommend him to anyone who is considering a project.

Hey Jim! I'll give you a call soon. I got another project :)

    Bathroom Remodel

Jimmy did a *wonderful* job on our bathroom reno from beginning to end. He honored the original budget quote (no surprise increases), helped us with our design decisions, recommended materials to suit our preferences, and the new finished bathroom looks truly fantastic. He and his team hung plastic to keep the dust out of the other rooms and did a good job of cleaning up. He also handled all the paperwork/licensing for our co-op board. After they were finished and gone I noticed a few small things needed tending to and Jimmy was more than happy to come back and take care of them right away with no complaints. We will absolutely use him again for home renovations and highly recommend him for your next project.

    Kitchen Remodel
    $38,550

We hired Egnatia Construction to do a kitchen renovation on our Brooklyn apartment. Amit helped us on designing the kitchen on they showroom. The crew came in everyday to work and they did a very good job. From demo to the finish there was no surprises everything went very smooth. It been over a few months since we finish the project and we like our kitchen. Our next project is the bathroom and definitely we are hiring Egnatia Construction again.

After a few weeks of looking for a contractor to do a kitchen renovation for our house we came across Egnatia Construction through the store we purchased the cabinets. We had them come and do a side visit, and discuss the idea we had for our kitchen design. Amit and Jimmy were very detailed about work and gave us all the different possibilities we had about the project. We hired them and after a few days the work started on the kitchen. The crewmen came every day in time and worked through the day without making any damages to the rest of the house. They did everything what we decided in the beginning without any surprise. We definitely will use Egnatia Construction on our next project, and give they number to our friends and family.

    full bathroom renovation
    18 days

I met with three different contractors and Egnatia Construction was by far the most professional and affordable. The guys were always on time and cleaned the job site before they left every day. They finished the project on time and on the budget as I was afraid that they might charge me more after starting, but they didn't ask for a penny more. I hired them to do a full bathroom renovation. I am very glad I hired them and would highly recommend them to give them a shot. Thank you for everything Egnatia for making my Bathroom look like one that belongs to a luxurious hotel.

    Bathroom Remodel
    5 days

We hired Jimmy and his team to re-tile our bathroom. They did an incredible job. I am very skeptical about hiring contractors but when Jimmy came to the house to give us an estimate, I just felt comfortable and was able to trust him, and it paid off. He communicated with us the entire time, and addressed all of our concerns. Not only did he complete the job for a reasonable price, and he finished two days sooner then he had initially advised. We would definitely use him again in the future. We highly recommend this company.

I hired Egnatia to remodel 2 1/2 baths and other work in my Manhattan apartment. They were outstanding. First, here's the work they had done: renovated 2 1/2 bathrooms (remove the tub, build shower stall, replaced 3 toilets, sinks, medicine cabinets and tile floors and walls). Other work done included built-in shelves and a bar in the living room, desk/work area in the 2nd bedroom and ceiling lights installed in the master bedroom. The end result is perfect and just as my wife and I wanted it. Regarding the people and process, I received an estimate and a payment schedule, they said it would take 60 days. All was done on time and with no hidden or surprise costs. The final invoices were the same as the original quote. George and Daniel did the majority of the work and showed up every day, on time. They worked all day with minimal breaks, they worked hard, steady and on time. They cleaned up at the end of each day. There are so many horror stories of work being started then they get a second job and show up only a couple of days per week, that is not the case here. They showed up every day, and I was in daily text contact with Jimmy (my main contact who did some of the work), on the status and what to expect the next couple of days. My wife and I felt very comfortable with them in the apartment, we were out of town several times and did not hesitate to leave them a key to access the apartment and continue the work. I would highly recommend Egnatia Construction. I would gladly share my experiences via email, [email protected]. I hit a home run with these guys. And they know how to get things done in Manhattan, which is a very difficult place to do business due to the hassle the building managing companies and co-op boards put you through. If I ever have more work to be done I would call them and no one else.

    WORST EVER CONTRACT VIOLATOR

IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE & WE NOW HAVE TO HIRE ANOTHER CONTRACTOR TO FINISH THE JOB THEY ABANDONED. STAY FAR AWAY.

Full remodel of apartment my mother was planning on putting on the market months ago. Their constant and inexcusable delays and utter failure to complete the work adequately (or at all) on several levels has made this impossible for the time being. They performed the majority of the job while we were out of the country. After a few months getting approval through the co-op board, they began on February 9th, 2015, telling me they would finish within three weeks to a month. Amit Singh, one of the co-owners (who falsely claimed he was overseeing the work but seems to have rarely even been at the apartment), emailed me demanding that he be paid according to this imagined schedule which I mistakenly did. Sadly, they made no attempt to adhere to either the schedule or their false promises. I trusted him and paid for the entire remodel in full about 3 weeks into the project because I wanted to make sure it was taken care of before I left the country. We were still living in the apartment for the first week or two and noticed that the workmen were not friendly and barely even made eye contact, which we found bizarre. Amit came to the apartment once or twice, very briefly, during that period, but we were wondering why the work was so slow and incredibly behind schedule. There was no foreman or manager even watching the men. I soon found out that Amit has laughably unreasonable excuses for everything under the sun. After we moved out, we returned in the evening a few times because we did not want to disturb the renovation but still wanted to see what was happening. We kept seeing a computer/DVD player charger with changing rainbow LED lights and a smiley face plugged in various rooms. Why would a workman need anything but a phone? Also, we disconnected the internet connection in January because we were planning to move, so there is a limited amount he could have been doing aside from playing a DVD. One evening after we had vacated the property, I returned to clean out leftover toiletries from the bathroom cupboard (that they were contractually obligated to varnish but never did) when I saw a DVD upside down towards the back of the bottom shelf. It was a Spanish language bisexual "men in uniform" p*** DVD. I was so shocked and disgusted. I did not initially even mention this incident to Amit because I did not want to offend or embarrass him. Talk about a violation - bringing that to a job site is not only offensive but is obviously crossing the line. A few weeks later, after Amit had cashed the final check he had demanded under false pretenses that the work was on schedule (the very day I left it - it never should have been cashed until the work was done - his "excuse" was that he was afraid he might lose it..), he began acting unfriendly out of the blue and being stubborn, so I mentioned the DVD. I thought he would be grateful to know to at least some degree. No response - very odd (but not at all, in hindsight). I also found out after our return from being abroad that only 1 or 2 men were working almost immediately after we had moved out of the apartment, so it all made sense. They must have sent all their decent workers to other jobs and phoned in this renovation, which is extremely offensive being that we are two women who paid them early and never bothered them at all. We were always incredibly gracious to them and to their workers. Clearly, this was not a mutual feeling as they and their workers have no respect at all. The apartment was a dirty disaster when I came back and both of the owners, Amit and Xhemali Lopari, have flatly refused to even look at the damage and incomplete work. Tellingly, Amit also ignored the building manager's request that he and/or the superintendednt be notified of he first electrical inspection. Just abrasive responses (and utterly disregarding about 95% of the issues) to my photographic proof of their negligence - they have offered NOTHING. He even claimed that the apartment was pristine when he checked it (an impossibility) and that anything that happened when they were not there is not their fault! He was last there on May 15th, we returned from being out of the country just 4 days later, and immediately contacted him. The ONLY other person who has access to the apartment is the superintendent, and any visitors must check in with the doormen (we had no visitors as we were away). Everything is documented. And why would a homeowner damage an apartment that they were hoping to sell - the entire point of this renovation?! Amit absurdly insinuated that such a thing had occurred. Among the list of grievances: paint & grout everywhere, broken doors and tub, unscripted carpet, cracked varnish & baseboards, missing baseboards, cracked tiles, peeling paint, mismatched & nonfunctional light switches, ruined window shades, and a stolen towel rack & toilet paper holder, etc.

I am not paid by these guys but I cannot say enough good things about them. I got a bunch of bids for the significant work I wanted done, then found them through their reputation and asked them to match. They underbid the cheapest by $1000. They did all work on time, on schedule, and were amazingly responsive to any questions I had during the process. Jimmy treated my house as if it were his own, and ensured it was treated well, cleaned up every day, kept a positive relationship with my Super/ Coop Management and even looked out for me when an outside electrician was dragging his feet. This was a huge remodel for me and my wallet, and they were clearly concerned and empathetic about it. The whole process, they would give me alternatives and make real recommendations on what was, and was not worth the money. I will use them again and refer them to friends.
